Disembodied

I think it’s pretty weird, contradictory, even, that I wrote most of my Corporeal manuscript—which focuses on the body, and embodiment—online. Because what could be more disembodying to a living person than being online …aside from, say, having a brain injury that destroys proprioception?

On the other hand, this chapbook project, Diario, now THAT (or perhaps parts of it) should be written online, because of the intersections of poetry-prose-news, private and public discourse, that interest me.

  1. Online or not, we are all stuck in our bodies, no matter that we spend so much of our lives to alter this. From what I have read of Corporeal, you are trying to build a bridge between that desire and the body. Composing it online is just its own metaphor, if you like.
