After a couple days of feeling crappy and tired/sleepy, and not knowing why…

Listening to Orbital

Bought a bunch of TINY canvasses. Teeny (that’s all I can afford right now).

* Mark Scroggins The Poem of a Life: a Biography of Louis Zukofsky.
Oh that Pound was such a bad boy.
* My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poems of Jack Spicer (ed. Peter Gizzi).

Temporarily forgot the word, “compost.”

Went for a walk down (appropriately) Walker Valley Rd., and saw lots of tiny mushrooms. Boletes, Bluets (maybe), Russulas (maybe), little umbrella-shaped things, little round platter-shaped things. Did you know that if you cut a Bolete, it bleeds blue? Did you know that the main “body” of a mushroom is underground, and all we see are its sexy bits? Speaking of which:

Ate at Betty’s Burgers, and had their “Tracks in the Grass” with “Special Lube” and sweet potato fries. Wonderful.

Enjoyed listening to M.A. Fink read his story, “Singular,” for the Wordcount Podcast #26 (it’s about 1/3 of the way through the podcast).

Painting something which is starting to look like the Black Madonna of Czestochowa (not something I planned), only scarier.
